Cup final magic for the Drums U13 boys as they lifted the Matty Langan Cup after a heart-stopping penalty shootout victory over Finglas Utd! What a match between two brilliant sides who served up a cracking final full of quality, drama and unbelievable effort from start to finish.

Drums were rock solid at the back all game, with every player digging deep and defending superbly for the team. Leading the way was goalkeeper Leo with a sensational Man of the Match performance, pulling off huge saves throughout normal time to keep Finglas at bay.

At the other end, Drums created some great chances, with Michael desperately unlucky to see his strike cannon off the inside of the post and somehow stay out.

The breakthrough finally came early in extra time when Drums hit Finglas on the counter. Sean played a superb through ball to Conor, who kept his cool to round the keeper and slot home brilliantly. Shortly after, Finglas were reduced to 10 men and Drums looked to be in control — but Finglas showed incredible fight and battled back to equalise at the start of the second period of extra time.

With nothing able to separate the teams, it all came down to penalties… and the Drums boys were ready. Hours of practice paid off as Niall R, Conor, Darragh and Dexter all stepped up with ice-cold finishes, while Leo produced yet another massive save to seal a famous victory!

Captain Ted proudly lifted the cup after an unbelievable squad performance, with every single player giving everything for the jersey. Incredible defending, unbelievable work rate and proper team spirit — champions in every sense! 💙🏆
