Courage Cup Match – Celebrating Community & Inclusion ⚽🌈
This evening, Drumcondra AFC was delighted to host the Sanctuary Runners at Clonturk Park for the Courage Cup Match, marking World Refugee Day and this year’s theme: Courage.
The theme encourages community groups to have the courage to try something new, and we were proud to extend a warm welcome to the Poppintree Sanctuary Runners for a memorable evening of football, friendship, and community spirit.
The match was a competitive and spirited contest featuring a fantastic mix of players, with the Sanctuary Runners team emerging victorious by 7–4. Congratulations to all involved for playing in the true spirit of the occasion.
The celebrations continued with pizza, wonderful music from Helen and her Orchestra, and even rainbows appearing in the sky to round off a beautiful evening of connection and inclusion.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported, and helped make the event such a success. Together, we showed how sport can bring people from all backgrounds together and create a welcoming community for all.
